Macro insect pics taken with the Canon 6D

I recently purchased a set of manual extension tubes for my Canon 6D. This enabled me to attach a reverse ring onto the end of the extension tubes and then screw on a Nikor F1.8 A lens. The magnification of this set up is amazing...

It is not very easy to use however and I have to use an external flash for fill in due to the loss of light when using the extension tubes and because I am shooting at F11 to F16 for sharper close up shots. The results so far have been very impressive though. The Canon 6 D is amazing for this type of work being light and easy to handhold. Its full frame sensor makes short work of high ISO and makes cropping in tighter a cake walk. For more of my work check out www.seanmills.weebly.com

Michelle & Leonard's Wedding Preview

I was really looking forward to shooting this wedding because Leonard is a good friend of mine and I love beach weddings. The coastline of Kleinmond is breathtakingly beautiful with its rugged rock formations, sandy beaches and imposing mountain that forms a really nice canvas for a photographer to paint on. With the weather closing in, it looked a bit bleak for an outside wedding but fortunately, we had amazing weather until the evening, when the heavens eventually opened

The reception was at La Vierge in the Hemel en Aarde valley close to Hermanus. As Reception venues go, La Vierge is really something special and I loved shooting there. We did the family and couples shoot after the Wedding on the rocks and then did the signing part of the ceremony at Leonard's fathers house up the road (very convenient or what?). We then had to race through to La Vierge for more couples pics before we ran out of light. The drive was about 40 minutes. I was really blessed to shoot another wedding with my awesome wife, Dee. We make a great team.
